Remkaflex is a young and dynamic company specialized in distributing and manufacturing control cables and hydraulic brake and clutch hoses for the car industry. The company was founded in the middle of the eighties, a time in which these products were mainly sold by importers and official car dealers. As these companies did not have large supplies it often took a couple of days, and sometimes weeks, for a cable or hose to be delivered. Or, at worst, the ordered product could not be delivered as it had been taken off the market by the manufacturer. This inconvenience came to an end with the arrival of Remkaflex. The company disposes of a wide variety of control cables and hydraulic brake and clutch hoses and is capable of reproducing - from a customer´s drawing or by copying the customer´s original - and delivering any cable or hose, within a day. This service is what makes Remkaflex a unique player in the international market. Products

In the past twenty years the number and the diversity of products in the Remkaflex assortment has increased considerably. The present cataloque includes a wide range of cables and hoses that can be roughly classified in the following types: handbrake cables, clutch cables, tacho or speed cables, gas cables, trailer cables, break cables, choke cables, hood cables, push/pull cables, gear cables, fuel hoses, hydraulic brake and clutch hoses, power steering hoses, airco hoses, teflon hoses and hoses for recording. As was said before, Remkaflex produces unlisted cables and hoses on site and the corresponding drawings are then filed. This makes it easy for customers to order extra copies of their own cables and/or hoses at a later stage. The increase in diversity of Remkaflex products over the last couple of years is directly linked to a shift in the list of customers. Originally the company produced cables and hoses for the car industry, but in time more and more other industrial branches found their way to Remkaflex. A number of gas companies, for instance, make use of Remkaflex recording hoses to inspect their mains system.

Service

Quality is of paramount importance to Remkaflex. The company has a special department engaged in testing Remkaflex products, settling possible customers´ complaints and observing the legislation with regard to cables and hoses. Because Remkaflex pays much attention to product quality, the Dutch Inspection Service (KEMA) certified the company with a quality standard (NEN 9001) in the early nineties. Apart from this warranty of quality, the company is constantly working on accessibility and comfort. This internet site is a good example of this effort. History

In 1985, Jan Koorn the owner of a car parts firm in Alkmaar, founded Remkaflex. In this new private limited company he accommodated the production, the purchasing and sales of control cables and hydraulic brake and clutch hoses for the car industry. The main reasons for starting a new business were to fulfill the needs of customers of his car parts firm and to add some traditional qualities to the car branch. It was a perfect move, for shortly after Remkaflex´ foundation, the periodic motor vehicle test (APK) was introduced in the Netherlands, as a result of which control cables and hydraulic brake and clutch hoses became a serious item on the car branch´s agenda. Yet, the first couple of years were strenuous due to the inadequate supply of raw materials and the closeness of the market at the time. By taking-over cable manufacturers in Denmark, Belgium, Ireland, Schotland and England, Remkaflex managed to obtain a considerable market share. Today it is hard to imagine a cable/hose market without Remkaflex.

From 1985 onward, the company has grown from one to thirteen employees and has an important position on the international market. The daily work is achieved in small teams which contributes to a pleasant work climate and which makes communicating fast and easy.
